Our Story
Green Fuel Ltd was founded in 2024 with a simple yet powerful mission: To replace fossil and biomass fuels with smart, affordable, clean, reliable and locally made cooking gas made from biodegradable wastes. Few years ago, firewood was everywhere, free — gathered from the land and shared among neighbors, other wood based fuels like charcoal was also affordable. But today things have changed, as populations grow, forests shrinks.
To make a way for either farming or housing, of which made what was once abundant become a costly commodity, sold in markets and local boutiques priced like gold. The imported LPG gas, also remains too expensive for most of African families to afford, which increases the dependency of these biomass fuels that are not only expensive but also comes at a deadly price of silently taking 700,000 peoples’ lives prematurely every year. Meanwhile, our kitchens, animals we are rearing, and ourselves every day generates numbers of kilograms of bio-degrable wastes, dumped openly non - valorized – polluting the environment — of which with proper management - is a great source clean, local, sustainable energy - currently in misuse.
Our journey began in Nyagatare – Eastern Province of Rwanda, as one of the district with cooking energy poverty but also highly animal waste generation due to highly cow rearing. Through extensive research and expert guidance, we developed innovative, smart bio-digester system that converts biodegradable waste into clean gas and valuable fertilizer as byproduct. Today, households served achieved cooking energy independence while also protecting the environment. Every installation made represents not just a technological solution, but a step toward a more sustainable and prosperous future for all through job creation, energy accessibility and enriched environment.
